Owner and designer, Lesley Timpe  and I met on the road years ago at an indie festival in Seattle Washington.  I bought a hat from her and have been a fan of her work ever since.  If you detect a European vibe to her seasonal collections it is no coincidence.  She was trained at Maestro Mateo Design School in Spain.   After 5 years of owning her own clothing design business in Chicago, Leslie decided that it was high time to open a flagship boutique.  Our paths met yet again when she asked me to put some Effie’s Heart pieces in the mix at her new brick and mortar.  Squasht carries Lesley’s collection as well as a selection of independent designer ware from around the nation.  If you’re visiting the Ukranian VIllage of Chicago, drop by and load up on affordable, unique, wearable, indie fashion.

We heart Eye’s Gallery in Philadelphia. Â Julia Zagar and her husband, the famous mosaic artist Isaiah, established Eye’s Gallery in its current location on South Street in 1968. Sparked by the Zagar’s love for Latin American folk art, Eye’s Gallery has expanded into three floors of exotic, handpicked, fair trade items from around the world. Â You can find Effie’s heart clothing in their awesome mix of artistic finds. Â The dolce vita dress in deco print is photographed above along side Sweet Romance jewelry. Note the oh-so-inspiring mosaic tile artwork by Isaiah in the background. Â Gorgeous!!!
